About the Leaderboard

This page shows the top contributors towards the GRASP project. User's score is evaluated using different metrics. The higher each solution's metric is, the better the solution. You can sort top performers based on each metric by clicking on the heading of each specific category. The categories are as follows:

The Score Metric

Average Quality Score is the average of quality scores of a user's contributed solutions. The score is on a scale of 0 -> 1, with a score closer to one being better. Quality score for each solution is as follows:

Quality Score = Fill Factor * (SQRT(Game_Rows * Game_Cols) / 50, where Game_Rows is the number of rows on the game grid, Game_Cols is the number of columns on the game grid, and 50 represents the maximum value of either rows or columns in the game.

Fill Factor

Average Fill Factor is the average of fill factors of a user's contributed solutions. Fill Factor for each solution is the percentage of non-zero marks on a solution's autocorrelation matrix, which can be calculated using the following formula:

Fill Factor = (MARKS * (MARKS - 1) + 1) / (((2 * Game_Rows) - 1) * ((2 * Game_Cols) - 1)) * 100, where MARKS is the number of marks on the original game grid, Game_Rows is the number of rows on the game grid, and Game_Cols is the number of columns on the game grid.

Average Size of Solutions

Average Size of Solutions is all of the user's contributed patterns averaged by row and column. The format displayed is Rows x Columns

Total Patterns Contributed

Total Patterns Contributed is the number of patterns the user has saved in GRASP's database.

Total Published Patterns Contributed

Total Published Patterns Contributed is the number of patterns a user has submitted that are from a publication, and the user has cited.
